Monster Vs Red Bull
Energy drinks are a fast growing industry. Many people buy them to start off their mornings so they can go throughout their day without getting tired. I recently did an analysis of two of the biggest energy drink companies, Monster and Red bull, to see which one is the better of the two. I took into account the artwork, the taste, and the amount of energy I got from them. After evaluating the two drinks, I decided which one was the best out of the two.

The first thing that I noticed when purchasing the Red Bull and Monster was the artwork on the can. Honestly, the can of Red Bull doesn't stand out that much to me. When I was trying to find the two products, it was harder to find the Red Bull because it is simple and there are a lot of drinks that have a silver can. I do however like the logo for Red Bull. While the can isn't very appealing, I do think the logo makes up for it so I give the Red Bull a 7/10 for artwork.
To start off, the can for Monster is easy to spot because it is the only black can I have ever seen. Even though it is simpler than the Blue and silver of the Red Bull can, I think the black makes it easier to see the logo and makes the can stand out. Even the logo of Monster is simple, but the way they make it stand out against the black background again makes it stand out from the rest of the cans on the shelf. I will give the artwork for Monster an 8/10.
Literally right after I opened the can I got a strong smell of the drink. The smell at first wasn't that pleasing, but after taking a sip I started to like it more. It has a strong fizzy feeling that I don't really care for, but the actual taste is pretty good. I wouldn't say that Red Bull was the best drink I have ever had, but it was okay. If I had to rate it I would give it a 6/10.
The Monster had the same effect on me as the Red Bull did when I first opened the can. It's not that the smells are gross, it's just that they are very strong, and they both literally made my whole room smell like the drink afterwards. Monster has a very unique flavor, and I really like it. The carbonation in the Monster didn't feel as weird as the Red Bull did; I can tell that they used less carbonation in it. The flavor was also much better than the Red Bull. The Monster wins in this category and I will give it a 9/10.
After drinking the Red Bull and Monster completely, on two different days, I evaluated the difference in energy I had. Both of the energy drinks seemed to have the same effect on me. I didn't get too much energy, but it did wake me up somewhat more than I already was. Also, they didn't give me a jittery feeling afterward. I will have to give both the Red Bull and Monster the same rating of 5/10 for energy because I got the same amount of energy from both of them. I am giving them a 5/10 because I actually get more energy from coffee in the morning, yet these drinks are supposed to be specifically for energy, so they should give me more energy than coffee. The energy that the drinks gave me might not be the same for everyone though. This is because I drink coffee every morning and about once a week I buy a Monster, so my body could be used to caffeine which would make it less effective on me.
In conclusion, after tallying up all of my numbers, the Monster wins with a total score of 20/30. It beat the Red Bull which had a score of 18/30. The artwork and flavor of the Monster made it much more appealing for me rather than the Red Bull. The Red Bull had too much fizz and burned my throat as it went down, while the Monster had just enough fizz. Also, the overall flavor without taking into account the fizz was better in the Monster.
